The last time Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee came together they created a cinematic landmark in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Black . This time round, the powerhouse performers will be seen together in Ravi Chopra’s Baabul .

Says Bachchan, “The film is titled Baabul, who is the father-in-law. The movie is a story of the rehabilitation of a young widow, who unfortunately, in our society goes through a lot of suffering. Society looks at her as an unwanted entity.”

Ravi Chopra, the man behind the smash hit Baghban , as usual seems pretty satisfied with the outcome. “It is a family drama, but it is definitely different. We are making a statement with this film, and when you make a statement, it automatically becomes different.

And there is an added attraction, the dynamic duo who had won hearts and also rave reviews in Baghbaan , are here once again. Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini can be seen dancing in the promos of Baabul that are currently on air and the timesless beauty Hema Malini is certainly game to keep the music going!

Says Malini, “It has always been wonderful working with him (Bachchan), and I think we look good together. It is important for a film to have the right combination of artistes.”

The film with a great star cast has also initiated a high-decibel marketing campaign, the first leg of which was a fashion show that had the entire cast walk the ramp in a display of star power which seems to be the winning formula at the box office these days.
