Raj Kumar Santoshi has found his Sita. He had already signed actor Ajay Devgan to play Ram for his next film, the extravagantlybudgeted Ramayan. Now we hear Sita will be played by Ajay’s real-life wife Kajol.

While Santoshi and Ajay have done several films before like Khakee, Lajja and The Legend of Bhagat Singh, this is the first time Kajol will act with the director.

This is the first time the actress will be working opposite husband Ajay Devgan ever since their daughter Nysa was born. (The couple has last worked together in Anil Devgan’s Raju Chacha, which was released in 2000).

It is a known fact that Ajay Devgan and Santoshi are close friends. Santoshi has even gone on record saying Ajay is his favourite actor, while Ajay has said in turn that he can never refuse Santoshi.

Sources reveal that Santoshi, who was considering many actresses for the role of Sita, decided to cast Kajol after he finalised Ajay.

He was also impressed by her comeback in Fanaa and since he had never worked with her before, approached her for the role of Sita.

Ever since her marriage and motherhood, Kajol has been extremely choosy about her films and has made it clear she will only do projects that she feels are worthy of her being away from her daughter Nysa.

Ramayan, budgeted at Rs 90 crore, will be one of the costliest films made in Bollywood and will be produced by Ke Sera Sera Productions in two languages.

The actress, who was in London to release Bollywood stars’ dolls across the stores in UK, talked about the success of her latest film Fanaa, her comeback to Bollywood, motherhood and why she chooses to star in Karan Johar’s films even though it’s just for a glimpse.

“It’s nothing like that. I love him so dearly. He is such a sweetheart that I can’t imagine not being there in his films. It’s more that than anything else,” Kajol said.

When asked if she had ever refused Karan, the actress said, “Not really. I can’t say no to him. I think I insist on it so he has quite sweetly turned it around and said ‘oh she can’t say no to me instead.”

Bollywood buffs in Britain must be delighted. Because Spin Master Toys UK, a toy manufacturer and distributor, along with business woman Shameen Jivraj, have decided to launch star ‘dolls.’ Bollywood’s top stars will be immortalized as toys. The first few toys will be Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra.

These 12 inch dolls will be available from August 1. The Priyanka and Kajol dolls will wear saris, whereas the Shah Rukh and Hrithik dolls will wear western clothes. According to Shameen, she was very fascinated by Bollywood because of the magic that they create. The idea is that the fans can take their favorite stars home. Each doll is available for 24.99 pounds and weighs half a kilogram.
